Flash your miner in the browser
Install official firmware on your Bitaxe, Gold Nugget or AxeDash over USB. Nothing to download or install.
1 Choose your device
Loading devices…
2 Pick your board version
Bitaxe: the board version is printed on the circuit board (for example 601 or 801) and is also shown in AxeOS under System. Gold Nugget V3 and AxeDash run on the ESP32-2432S028R board.
3 Connect & flash
- Plug the device into this computer with a data USB cable (some cables are charge-only). For a Bitaxe, keep its main power connected too.
- Click Connect & Flash and choose the device in the pop-up (Bitaxe shows as USB JTAG/serial debug unit; Gold Nugget and AxeDash usually as USB-SERIAL CH340).
- Not listed? Hold the BOOT button while plugging the cable in, then try again.
- The device restarts and creates a Wi-Fi network named like Bitaxe_XXXX. Gold Nugget and AxeDash show the Bitcoin Merch logo first, then a setup screen.
- Join that network on your phone or computer. The setup page opens (or go to 192.168.4.1).
- Enter your Wi-Fi details (and for miners, your pool and Bitcoin address), then save.
Help & FAQ
Which browsers work?
Desktop Chrome, Edge and Opera (version 89 or newer). They support Web Serial, which lets this page talk to your miner over USB. Safari, Firefox and mobile browsers don't.
My miner doesn't show up in the list
Try a different USB-C cable (many are charge-only), another USB port, and hold the BOOT button while plugging in. On Windows, older boards with a separate USB-UART chip may need the CP210x or CH340 driver.
How do I find my board version?
Look for a 3–4 digit number printed on the board, such as 204, 401, 601, 602 or 801. If your miner still boots, AxeOS shows it on the System page.
I flashed the wrong version / my miner won't boot
Nothing is permanently damaged. Hold BOOT while plugging in, pick the correct board version here and flash again.
Where does the firmware come from?
Bitaxe firmware is the official, unmodified AxeOS (ESP-Miner) release published by the open-source Bitaxe project. Each file is checked against its SHA-256 checksum in your browser before anything is written to your device. Gold Nugget firmware is published by Bitcoin Merch.
